Tim Allwine
About: A native of the Chesapeak Bay area, Tim Allwine grew up on boats in general and worked on tugboats. He was the rigger on the Balclutha, a 1886 square-rigger restored in the 1970's under the direction of the San Francisco Maritime Museum. Tim actually did the welding and other work to replace the the mizzen top mast on the Balclutha. Today, Tim is a Senior Software Engineer with O'Reilly Media's research group where he untangles all sorts of intricate problems.
