About: Motorcycle luthier Ezra Daly's first workshop was the floor of his small bedroom in Santa Cruz. It was there that he began to fashion the first stand-up bass made from used motorcycle parts. Assembled from a Moto Guzzi motorcycle gas tank, a chrome tailpipe and hardwood, the Frankenbass emerged months later for its debut performance with a psychobilly band called Buddys Riot. The Frankenbass was the predecessor to the Venus de Moto, the Flying VW, the Cycle Pole and the Flatracula. After many years of rigorous testing in clubs around the Bay Area, these unique musical instruments are now sold on the Wreck-n-roll Custom Instrument website.
